Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about AlterPath, interactive stories, friends, and downloading on Android.

What is AlterPath?
A mobile app of short interactive stories and choice surveys. You pick what happens next and see where your choices lead.
Is AlterPath a personality test?
No. You play stories first. Some endings leave a playful takeaway from how you chose—but the main experience is the story, not a quiz that labels you.
Is AlterPath free?
Yes—download free on Google Play and play core stories. Optional extras are in the app if you want them later.
Do I need an account?
Sign in if you want to sync your progress and map across devices. You can start exploring without a long setup.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Connect with friends to see paths they finish, send challenges, and message each other in the app.
What does “path” and “fork” mean?
A path is a story or short survey. A fork is a choice that changes the next scene. Your map is every route you’ve already taken. More in paths & forks.
How long is a typical path?
Most paths are built for a short session—often just a few minutes—so you can finish one on a break and come back for another later.
Can I replay with different choices?
Yes. Taking different forks can lead to a new ending. That’s a great way to see what you missed the first time.
